Blue Badge Holder Exemption – Telephone Registration

The LEZ Exemption System Telephone Registration Line will be closed for the festive period from 2:00 PM on Wednesday 24 December until 8:00 AM on Monday 5 January.

For any urgent exemption requests, please use the online LEZ Exemption System portal.

To help you navigate the online system, we provide:

A Video Guide with step-by-step demonstrations, audio instructions, subtitles, and written transcripts.
A Help Guide with detailed text-based instructions.

If you are unable to set up your account or register an exemption online, you may call the phoneline and leave your name and phone number after the tone. We will return your call when the office reopens.

Important: Any PCNs received by a Blue Badge holder must be appealed directly with the relevant local authority.

For those individuals unable to access and use the online system, the Scottish LEZ Blue Badge Exemption System Telephone Registration line, operated by Energy Saving Trust via Home Energy Scotland, may be able to help.

However, please know the LEZ Blue Badge Exemption System Telephone Registration line cannot assist:

Organisational Blue Badge holders;

those with questions about their vehicle’s compliance with the LEZ (if you do, please email lowemissionzonesenquiries@gov.scot);

those seeking to appeal any PCNs (in this instance, please contact the local authority who issued the PCN);

those with complaints about the Scottish LEZ Blue Badge Exemption System or those who have other general LEZ queries (please direct these to LEZBlueBadge@transport.gov.scot)

If you do still need the help of the LEZ Blue Badge Exemption System Telephone Registration line, please call 0808 808 2282 and select Option 2 on the keypad on your phone. This line will be open Monday – Friday: 8am to 8pm, and Saturday: 9am to 5pm.

Before calling, please have your Blue Badge to hand as this will allow the Telephone Registration team to assist you as quickly as possible.
